BACKGROUND ON SEA TO SKY MEETING MANAGEMENT INC.
History: Sea to Sky Meeting Management Inc. (Sea to Sky) was created in January 2001 and incorporated in British Columbia, Canada in November 2002. In five years, the company has grown from a home-based business with one employee to a team of eleven who manage ten to fifteen conferences per year. Clients include provincial, national, and international associations, provincial and federal governments, and corporations.
Business: Sea to Sky’s core business is providing full conference and event management services. The company provides its clients with a “one-stop” shopping option for conference, meeting, tradeshow, special event production, and registration services.
Goal: The company’s goal is to be the preferred conference and event management because of the quality work we do. Our core values are to: be trustworthy and honest, have integrity and no hidden agenda or costs, place the client’s interests and objectives before the company’s and select clients who have similar philosophical and financial values.
Team: The Sea to Sky team is made up of six full-time employees working out of the Vancouver office, and five satellite project managers. Sarah Lowis is the owner and president of the company. She has earned the Certified Meeting Professional and Certified Meeting Manager designations.
Reputation: The best indication of Sea to Sky’s reputation is that its source of business leads is referrals. Its reputation in the industry is a company that delivers what is promised, on time, and within budget.
Conference Experience: Sea to Sky’s client project experience varies from provincial and national annual conferences of 300 to 600 attendees to international conferences of up to 1600 attendees. The scope of the projects range from simple 3 day conferences with plenary and break out sessions, to complex 5 day conferences with additional components such as sponsored satellite symposia, exhibits, opening ceremonies, welcome reception, final banquet, tours, and sightseeing excursions.
