Join us in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for the World Federation of Rose Societies Convention.

The World Rose Convention, being held at the Westin Bayshore Vancouver Hotel from June 18-24, 2009, will bring together rosarians from around the world to enjoy a week of camaraderie, lectures, tours, information sharing, and fun – all in celebration of the Rose. In addition, the Convention is featuring the American Rose Society Spring National Convention and Rose Show!

In keeping with the theme “Roses in the Landscape,” lecture topics will focus on growing roses within the landscape and emphasize the need for earth friendly gardening techniques. As a rosarian, you will gain knowledge on the latest research available and exchange ideas with the many breeders, growers, retailers, authors, and hobbyists in attendance.

Whether you are a member of one of the World Federation rose societies, or just love roses, come to Vancouver, Canada to celebrate the Rose!

Convention Highlights

The Convention is a multi-faceted event focusing on the Rose. Attend lectures and social events, participate in daily tours of local gardens, and join Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island for a day full of adventures and roses.

In addition to the Convention, benefit from a unique event for the World Rose Convention – the World Rose Festival!

The World Rose Festival is a one-time event organized by the Vancouver Rose Society.

Meet the Rose Breeders - up close and personal
450 bare-rooted roses were sent from Gary Pellett of NewFlora, on behalf of Kordes of Germany, and 400 Carefree Spirit Roses from the house of Meilland, France to support the Rose Legacy Project!

The draw to name a rose by registering and paying for the Rose Convention and booking your accommodation at the Westin Bayshore Hotel by October 15, 2008 is now closed. The contest winner will be announced at the Convention Banquet. Remember, you need to actually stay at the Westin to win!
