We are pleased to invite rose enthusiasts and rose society members from around the world to register for the World Rose Convention 2009. Gain knowledge on the latest research available and exchange ideas with the many breeders, growers, retailers, authors, and hobbyists in attendance. And, of course, enjoy the many social events and tours on offer.

General Registration Information

Sea to Sky Meeting Management Inc. is the Rose Convention Secretariat and has been appointed to manage the registration services.

Register online by clicking here. Online registration will allow you the opportunity to make changes and additions to your registration as needed until Sunday May 31, 2009. The online registration site also will have the most current information at all times.

We understand that in some circumstances it is not possible to register online. If you require a manual mail/fax registration form, please contact the Convention Secretariat at

Please refer back to both the website and the online registration system on an ongoing basis as we will be adding new information and activities as they become available. You will be able to access your account to register for events right up until May 31, 2009.

To participate on any tours and social events on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, you need to register for the seven-day convention pass.

Exhibiting Roses at the Rose Show

There is no fee to exhibit roses at the Rose Show, however, you do need to register.

Accompanying Guest

If you wish to bring guests to one of the social events, we would be delighted to have them join us. When the social events are published online, we will be selling individual tickets to these events and you can purchase your guests’ tickets at that time.

Daily Tours and Social Events

Select from a variety of daily tours such as a Vancouver city tour, tours of private and public gardens and/or evening social events such as a First Nations dinner and Sunset Cruise dinner. Be sure not to miss the official opening event of the Convention on Friday, June 19th and the Farewell Dinner on Wednesday, June 24th. Pre and Post Multi Day Tours

Experience the mountains and valleys of Beautiful British Columbia and the gardens of Vancouver Island during the pre and post multi day tours. You can also start or end your visit to Vancouver with an Alaskan Cruise or a trip through the Rockies onboard the Rocky Mountaineer. Go to Pre & Post Tours for more detailed information.

Methods of Payment

(All payments are due in Canadian dollars)

  • Cheque, money order or bank transfer payable to World Rose 2009 c/o Sea to Sky Meeting Management Inc. in Canadian Dollars and drawn on a Canadian Bank
  • Credit Card – Visa and MasterCard. Sea to Sky Meeting Management Inc. will appear on your credit card statement.
  • Bank/wire transfers must be received prior to May 31, 2009. Please note the name of the event and the name of the delegate on the bank/wire transaction so funds can be allocated correctly.

Confirmation / Receipts

A confirmation email will be sent shortly after you register. If you submit a credit card payment, a receipt will be included. If you wish to pay by cheque, money order or wire transfer, an invoice will be sent to you. Once payment has been received, a receipt will either be emailed or mailed to you.

Those pre-registrants who do not pay their registration fee until they arrive on-site at the convention will be charged the on-site registration fee. All payments must be made in Canadian Dollars. Only credit card and cash payments will be accepted for on-site registrations.

Deadlines

The registration fee category is determined by when the payment is received. The registration fee categories are as follows:

Early Bird   Up to September 15, 2008
After Early Bird    September 16, 2008 to January 31, 2009
On-site Registration   January 31, 2009 to Onsite

The deadline for pre-convention registration is Sunday, May 31, 2009. Registrations will also be accepted on-site.

Cancellation and Substitution Policy

Cancellations must be received in writing to Sea to Sky Meeting Management Inc. Refunds will be made as follows:
Refund less $100 up to December 31, 2008
Refund less $150 up to January 31, 2009
No refunds after January 31, 2009

Substitute delegates may be nominated at any time up to May 31, 2009. No substitutions will be permitted as of June 1, 2009.

Other Registration Information

Wheelchair Access and Special Assistance

All Convention venues are wheelchair accessible. If you require special assistance for any reason, please contact the Convention Secretariat with details and be sure to include your requirements during the registration process.

Dietary Requests

The Convention will ensure that all dietary requirements are accounted for at Convention Food and Beverage functions. Please identify your dietary requirements during the registration process so that we can make arrangements in advance.

Non Smoking

Please note that the Convention has been designated as non-smoking. In Vancouver, smoking is not permitted by law in public buildings, on public transit, in shopping malls, and in most restaurants, pubs, nightclubs and casinos, including outdoor seating areas (such as cafe patios).

"Imagine - A rose with your name on it"

An important stipulation of the draw to name a rose is that to be awarded the prize, you have to book by September 15, 2008, and actually stay at the Westin Bayshore Hotel during the Convention.
