Sarah Lowis, CMP, CMM, BA
Team Leader and President
Sarah is the Founder and President of Sea to Sky Meeting Management Inc. She is a former member of the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Foundation Canada Board of Trustees, Past President of MPI BC Chapter, and winner of the MPI BC Chapter Rising Star and Planner of the Year awards. She was the first person in British Columbia to achieve the Certified Meeting Manager designation (1999) and achieved her Certified Meeting Professional designation in 1997. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree, French Major, from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. She speaks English and French.
I love being part of a winning team and exceeding expectations. Working together with my team mates, clients and suppliers, we set goals, make plans to achieve them, and then deliver what we promised and more. I feel a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction every time!
Ian Holliday, BA Econ
Ian directs the Sea to Sky team and oversees and manages client projects. He has more than fifteen years of experience planning and staging conferences, events, trade shows and meetings spanning four continents, eleven countries and all the major Canadian cities. Ian started his career in Ottawa working with an association management company before moving to Vancouver. He has taught event and conference management courses at a private institution. Before his career in meeting planning, he spent ten years in sales and sales management. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Economics) from the University of Waterloo.
I love working with the talented Sea to Sky team and combining our experience to meet all challenges, whether they are strategic, logistical or financial. I am satisfied when our clients’ experience is such that it is an easy decision for them to hire us again and we develop a long lasting partnership.
Stéphanie Roy, BBA, MBA
Association Management Director
Stéphanie manages and builds relationships and oversees the management of associations and team operations. She obtained a marketing degree and an international MBA from Université de Moncton while studying in Canada, the United States and Mexico. After traveling around North America, Stéphanie returned to Canada and has led marketing and strategy for non-profit and corporate organizations, primarily specializing in association and event management. She has served as a director on several prominent boards and enjoys working on matters relating to strategy and governance. Stéphanie is fluent in English and French and has a basic understanding of Spanish.
I am passionate about supporting people in their personal and professional development. It is very rewarding to be part of a team that values this as much as I do. Most of all, I enjoy working with clients and associations that are making an impact and moving their industries forward!
Sandy Becker, CMP, BA Tourism
Senior Project Manager, European Office
As Senior Project Manager, Sandy leads a team of Project Coordinators and Assistants. She has event management and trade show experience in Germany, the United States and Canada. Sandy is fluent in German and English and has a basic understanding of French and Spanish. She achieved her Certified Meeting Professional designation in 2012, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration / Tourism and has hotel specialty training.
I love what I do, because it connects me with people, is always changing and challenging – there are no days where I am bored, for sure!
Sherri Corrie, MPA, BA
Project Manager, Australasia Office
Sherri has been working in the fields of research, administration, communication, marketing and project management since the late 1990s. Her varied background supports Sea to Sky in its Association Management business. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Victoria and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Laval University. She speaks English and French.
Working with Association Executives who are passionate about their profession is really rewarding on many levels. Working with Sea to Sky’s team is rewarding each day!
Kazia Ekelund, BTM, DRHM
Project Manager, Victoria Office
Kazia has been working in the conference and events industry for over 12 years with recent experience in small business management. Her extensive experience supports Sea to Sky in the area of project management. She holds a degree in Tourism Management and a diploma in Resort & Hotel Management from Thompson Rivers University.
The conference and event industry is so dynamic and every day is something new. That’s what I love about this job. I also appreciate working with a great team, especially Sarah and Ian who always work with the highest amount of integrity and professionalism.
Bernadette Gessler, BA
Bernadette gained valuable experience in project management working for a non-profit organization in Canada, and for catering companies in Germany. Her Bachelor of Business Administration from Germany included an exchange program at Vancouver Island University. In addition to English, Bernadette is fluent in German and has a basic knowledge of Spanish and French. As Project Manager, she is handling all aspects of conference and event management for national and international projects.

Sponsorship and Exhibit Sales Manager
Marilyn has more than 20 years of experience in business development consulting in many industries. She has an innate ability to empathize with and influence people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds. Her expertise in sales management and marketing comes from working with associations, small businesses, and international corporations. Marilyn’s specialty knowledge in health care marketing ensures a solid understanding of the ethical requirements in sourcing new, viable partners or working with sensitivity within an established network.
I love making sales and the more the better! It is my sincere pleasure to assist our clients in facilitating a financially successful event – and helping their sponsors and exhibitors gain maximum exposure and return on investment for their commitment.
Registration and Membership Manager
Glenda brings more than fifteen years of experience in the conference planning industry to Sea to Sky. With a strong background in registration and housing, she also has an in-depth understanding of overall conference coordination. As Registration Manager, Glenda is responsible for managing Sea to Sky’s registration, membership and housing services and supports the Project Managers and Director with all aspects of registration, membership and housing for local, national and international events.
I enjoy the challenge of the job, not every day is the same. The thrill of the first day of a conference, where questions are coming at you and getting everything dealt with, is a lot of fun. Working on a conference for several years and having attendees walking up and giving me big hugs and saying “It is great to see you again” – I like that too!
Lydia Eggers, BCom
Lydia is responsible for Sea to Sky’s accounting function. She has more than twenty years of experience providing management and clients with detailed and accurate accounting reports and project costs in support of strategic decision making. She has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Economics and Accounting. Lydia speaks English and German.
I love perfection in numbers and am never satisfied unless everything balances.
Brittany Minskip, Diploma (Event Management)
Senior Project Coordinator
Brittany’s experience includes working in the hospitality industry in resorts in the Okanagan, restaurants in Vancouver and now in event services with Sea to Sky. She graduated from The Art Institute of Vancouver with an Event Management Diploma. Through education, many volunteer roles and an Event Production Assistant position, she has had the opportunity to work with various industries including Digital Media, Forestry, Education and Non-Profit Organizations. As a Project Coordinator, Brittany is responsible for supporting the Sea to Sky team with all aspects of conference and event management.
I love knowing that all the hard work our team does is benefiting organizations and the amazing work they do. Working with our team is both rewarding and satisfying. We are all so eager to teach, learn and grow together while striving to exceed our clients’ expectations.
Craig Lansley, BCom
Joining the team as Project Coordinator, Craig supports Sea to Sky in the many aspects of event management. His work experience includes service based roles in tourism and recreation, promotional marketing, and 3 years of in-house corporate event planning experience. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria which included a semester abroad in Brno, Czech Republic. Craig also recently returned from 7 months backpacking around Asia. Craig is looking forward to applying what he learned while travelling to assist Sea to Sky’s international conference and event clients.
I love working in events because no two days are the same, which keeps me on my toes. The best part though is getting to work closely with a great team who can become like a second family while working an event.
Laura van Wensveen, MSc MM, BBA Tourism
Laura has experience in the customer service and hospitality industry and most recently she worked as a festival coordinator for a non-profit organization where she gained skills in all areas of event planning. She obtained her Master’s degree in Marketing and gained valuable experience in event planning and knowledge about the non-profit industry through her volunteer work. She is fluent in English and Dutch and has basic knowledge of German. Laura is looking forward to applying her knowledge of marketing and her varied skill set to supporting the Sea to Sky team as Project Coordinator.

Hailey McNeil, BBA, Diploma (Event Management)
Hailey’s break into the event and conference industry started here at Sea to Sky. She recently graduated from The Art Institute of Vancouver with an Event Management Diploma and holds a Bachelors of Business Administration with a major in Marketing from Thompson Rivers University. Volunteer experiences and practicums provided the opportunities to learn more about the event management industry and she knew it was a fit. She is keen to apply her creative skills and her eye for detail to every event. As Project Assistant, Hailey will work closely with the Sea to Sky team to ensure all tasks exceed our clients’ expectations.

Carleigh Soo, BA (English, Psychology)
Carleigh is a recent graduate from the University of British Columbia where she attained her Bachelor of Arts with a double major in English and Psychology. She has gained experience as a marketing, communications, and events assistant for non-profit organisations as well as positions in the wedding and film industries. Her interest and growing experience in events stemmed from her passion for helping others and volunteering for many community and international organizations. Carleigh brings a mix of design, online communication and promotion skills, along with her love for event planning to the Sea to Sky team and looks forward to continuing her development in event and conference management.
