Child psychiatrists and representatives from the allied professions of nursing, psychology, social work, pediatrics, public health, education, social sciences and other relevant fields from around the world gathered at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre and Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel from September 18-22, 2016. The International Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions and the Canadian Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry held a joint congress – the theme was “Fighting Stigma; Promoting Resiliency and Positive Mental Health.” Participants benefited from a full five-day program of pre-congress institutes, 26 plenary sessions, 15 blocks of concurrent sessions, an IACAPAP General Assembly, group meetings, ancillary meetings, an exhibit and poster hall, and social events including the opening and closing ceremonies as well as the Gala Dinner.
