Aboriginal AIDS Awareness Week, began on World AIDS Day – December 1, aimed to:
1) Increase awareness and knowledge about HIV/AIDS;
2) Establish ongoing prevention and education programs in First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities;
3) Address common attitudes that may interfere with prevention, care and treatment activities;
4) Reduce HIV/AIDS-related stigma and discrimination.
AAAW 2020 took place virtually and included live presentations, panel discussions and open discussions, as well as a resource gallery.
