Gala Evening

Fun Run Through Stanley Park

Become active in the fight against hypertension by participating in this uniquely Vancouver activity: A 5 km long fun run along the Stanley Park Seawall. Stanley Park’s Seawall, a flat, paved path, is 8.8 kilometres (5.5 miles) in length and circles the entire park. It offers spectacular views of the North Shore Mountains and Lions Gate Bridge and is among one of the most popular activities to do while in Vancouver.

You may join the run as either a runner or walker.

CANCELLED - English Bay Sunset Canoe Adventure

One of Vancouver’s unforgettable moments is a sunset on English Bay, located just minutes from downtown Vancouver. The evening will begin as you paddle into the sunset in traditional Voyageur canoes. Carrying up to 20 passengers, these classic Canadian crafts were developed in the 17th Century for the Canadian fur trade. Paddling a Voyageur canoe requires a modest physical effort and provides all participants with an enjoyable environment in which to practice co-operation and teamwork. After your canoeing adventure you will pull up on the beach for a smoked salmon snack.

Qualified guides accompany each canoe and ensure guests comfort and explain the sights.

CANCELLED - Cycle, Tandem Cycle or Rollerblade Through Stanley Park

No visit to Vancouver would be complete without a run, ride or rollerblade around the Stanley Park Seawall. The flat, paved path is 8.8 kilometres (5.5 miles) in length and circles the entire park. It offers spectacular views of the North Shore Mountains and Lions Gate Bridge.

Fly beneath the giant trees in the park and soar past the rose garden and the Vancouver Rowing Club. There are many places to stop and enjoy the scenery.

On this excursion you will visit Spokes Bicycle Rentals, a company that has been outfitting bicyclists and rollerbladers in Stanley Park since 1938, Spokes is a short walk from the Vancouver Convention Centre. Upon arrival you will be fitted for the appropriate equipment, given a brief explanation of the “seawall customs” then you will be off to explore the park at your leisure.

CANCELLED - The Hiwus Experience - First Nations Event on Grouse Mountain

Take the Skyride, North America’s largest aerial tramway, on a one-mile journey to the Peak of Grouse Mountain. This unique, one of a kind, setting provides breathtaking views of the city skyline, Burrard Inlet and across the Strait of Georgia to Vancouver Island.

At the top of the mountain a native guide will lead you through a thick forest, explaining the ancient meanings of carvings and totems encountered along the way. The híwus longhouse sits on the Shores of Blue Grouse Lake, deep in the alpine forests of Grouse Mountain. The longhouse, also known as a bighouse or feasthouse, has been the heart of the Pacific Northwest’s First Nations culture for generations.

Inside, visitors gather and experience the culture of the Pacific Northwest Native People. Live dances and songs are performed in traditional regalia, legends of their people are recounted, and masks incite the magic and mystery of the stories. A First Nations inspired dinner will be enjoyed throughout the performance.
